We teach drama lessons to students of all abilities both children and adults. Drama opens up an almost endless pool of creative possibilities as well as equipping you with valuable life skills such as confidence, social skills, focus and empathy. Also being able to express yourself clearly, concisely and with authority is a tool which is valuable in any workplace! Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced performer I can hopefully help you reach your full potential. In the past my drama students have gained places to schools such as Urdang and the Wilkes Academy.
Lessons are tailored to your own areas of interest. Examples of the areas we could cover in include:
Acting for film and television
Acting for theatre
Essay Support or proofreading
For those interested in film and television acting we have a tripod and a camcorder in the studio which can be used during the lessons.
All lessons are held in a dedicated teaching room on the second floor of the Town Hall. This has just been laid with Harlequins dance floor making it the ideal space to have drama lessons.
We can all use a bit of extra help with those daunting auditions! Whether it's help with a monologue or a movement piece or just a buffer to bounce ideas off we will always do our best to help you with anything that you need!
If you are already enrolled on
courses such as those studying for abilities GCSE, BTEC or A level exams and would like some extra support, please let me know details about the board and course specification and we will do our best to help you.
We also have a number of commonly used texts and scripts which are available to loan or use in the lesson!
The books that you need will depend
on what you hope to gain out of the lessons. If you are unsure what would suit you we have a range of resources in the studio including a range of monologues pre and post 1900's, duologues, Shakespeare, poetry, modern drama and more! So we will never be short of things to try out in the lesson.
We offer all students the opportunity to enter for the Trinity College London graded examinations. For more information on taking drama exams please see our exams section.
